Orlando Parkour is hosting a southeast-wide jam on the first weekend of 2010. People coming in from out of town or out of state are welcome to stay the night at either my house or Andy's (see details below). The gameplan for the weekend is going to go thusly:

Friday, January 1st: (It Begins)
Everyone arrives and gets settled.
-All participants check in with Andy (321-271-5319) and/or Graham (321-960-8154).
There will be food available at Andy's house at 10:00pm. Some light training in the evening, for those who aren't already tired. Then BED.

Saturday, January 2nd: (The Jam Proper)
-9:30am - UCF:
Parkour, break for lunch, and more parkour. Finished at UCF by 4:00pm.
-Break for dinner.
-6:00pm - Gym:
Evening gym session, class and free gym. Finished when we're exhausted or the gym owner turns the lights out.

Sunday, January 3rd: (Parkour Picnic)
-10:30am - Wooden Park
Get up and go to the wooden playground in Winter Park for an all-day parkour picnic. We'll be cooking out while we're there, and we've officially rented the park from 2:00pm till sundown. It will be a great opportunity for practicing and filming without harassment.
-Sundown
The official end of the jam.

This is going to be a huge event and we want EVERYBODY to come! We'll be advertising throughout Orlando and are expecting to get a big local turnout in addition to all the out-of-towners. We're also attracting sponsors to come out and give us free food, beverages, etc. throughout the weekend! It's gonna be a blast!

Good news, I just got done with an SGA Senate committee meeting for funding allocation at UCF, where I presented the proposal for the UCF Parkour & Freerunning club. After grilling me and debating amongst themselves for about an hour, they approved us for $1059.95 worth of RSO funding, 7 votes to 3!

This means that over the next month, we'll be able to pay for promotional materials, training supplies, and whatever else we need for the jam, ENTIRELY WITH THE SCHOOL'S MONEY.

I've been fist-pumping for about the last hour and a half.

Is this Jan. 2+3 ?

Any housing opportunities for some Georgia people?

I'm thinking there may be at least one car full from Georgia..

Yup, Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd. Feel free to show up on Friday night though, cause we'll be getting an early start in the morning.

Also, both Andy and I will be putting people up. There should be plenty of space for everybody.

That sucks, Michael, Sunday's going to be the biggest day!!

Sweet! UCF is cool, but the wooden playground is really badass, and for once we'll have the whole place to ourselves. It would definitely be awesome if you could stay for it.

so anyone from athens and/or atlanta going to this jam? I'm really liked to go but not that willing to make the long trip alone. Maybe we could meet up in the GA area and drive down in one car. Let me know.

Oh if that doesn't work. I can fly down to the orlando airport and back for less than $50 dollars through this small airline. But if I did this could anyone pick me up and drop me off at the airport?

what small airline would you be using? I can't go but cheap airfare intrigues me.

Allegiant Air, its pretty awesome. I can fly from Greenville, SC to a bunch of places in FL for dirt cheap.

John, we could if someone has a larger car.

ya, that's not really the smallest group of people. hahaha, pillman's fat.
nothing wrong with a caravan if we can't find a good sized vehicle.

I will need to back that monday before 6pm because that's when my first class is... but that's my only stipulation.

Sorry I haven't checked back here in a while. If you end up flying, I could definitely pick you up.

When you guys figure out what you're doing make sure to give me a call so I can expect you. I still don't really have a full headcount yet.

Dec 31 09, 02:39PM

Ok, sorry i've been out of town for xmas and pretty much been without internet and phone. I just got back and it was a 14 hour drive, so i'm not exactly up for another long drive so I guess I'll be passing on the jam. Sorry.
